Market Structure, Broker Conflicts Do More Harm Than HFT

When Pragma, Securities an expert firm specializing in trading, published itsreport showing how high frequency trading (HFT) hurts investors I had expected to see some significant impact, or at least widespread discussion. Instead it appears to have sunk with little more than a ripple or two.

David Mechner, CEO of Pragma Securities, said the report got traction in some circles, not so much in others. At the time the report came out, Mechner said, Pragma had calls from a few regulators and political offices, but there hasn’t been any followup.
